Laura Emmi

Laura is a highly skilled and qualified Mental Health Social Worker, who works with individuals, couples, families and community groups on a range of issues. She works with couples and individuals to assist them overcome difficulties related to trauma, substance abuse, mental illness, depression and anxiety, interpersonal relationship conflict, sexuality and intimacy challenges.

Laura has a specific interest in couple therapy and has completed the Specialist Course in Integrative Couple Therapy (2022), Gottman Level 1 training (2023) and Emotional Focused Therapy Training (2023).

Using a range of evidence-bases approaches, Laura works collaboratively with a relational focus to accommodate the needs of the couple. She is warm in her approach and endeavours to create a collaborative and attuned therapeutic relationship that prioritises an experience of safety and well-being.

Laura has extensive experience working in both community and public sectors. This work has been at the level of direct care and also liaising with other agencies, contributing to program development, support and training.

Laura who also speaks Italian, works from a culturally diverse practice and welcomes all couples, including those from LGBTQI+ community.
